"Today I have gathered chalk from the riverbank to bless my sister's wedding. I wrap it in small squares of animal skin, bound tightly together with sinew and pray for my sister's happiness and a marriage blessed with many children and cattle. I offer this blessing in my right hand to signify the importance of such an occasion:
